All of our safety program materials are currently located on the same server program as your time and expense records.  We have completed the update of our Corporate Safety Plan (the overall safety program for EMS), and have several other documents there including forms, SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures: procedures for completing specific tasks or using particular forms), and other documents to assist you with your safety efforts.

These documents can be accessed by logging onto the “Project Center” server just as if you were entering time or expense records.  If you open the Project Center to the “Team Site”, open the tab at the top labeled “Business Portal”.  Once there you can either open the tab at the top labeled “Safety” or go to the left column and click on “Safety”: both will take you to the Safety Page.  On the Safety Page, go to the “Shared Documents” to find the materials currently available.   

You will note that some documents are “SOPs” and some are “Forms”.  The SOPs describe how to do something; the forms give a format for documenting information.  The Accident Investigation SOP gives guidance on when and how to investigate an accident involving an injury, and how to complete the Accident Investigation Form.   

We have tried to develop forms that would make the recordkeeping task simpler and more effective.  However, experience has shown that the best ideas come from people who actually do the work.  If you have a suggestion on how to improve one of the forms on the Safety Page, or if you already have a form that is working well for you, or if we need a form for something, let us know.
